Better Sleep = Lose Weight Faster
- Do you really know that a better sleep helps you to lose weight faster?
- And you also know what it takes to call a sleep a better one?
- I know you definitely slept last night, but could you be sincere enough to call it a “Better sleep?”
Anyway, for me I slept for 6 hours last night…and guess what?
It wasn’t a “better sleep” ….I had some issues bugging me.
So, this post is for both of us…(You and I)
There is increase in medical reports over persons undergoing stress. This just shows how many of us have a challenging time with keeping a healthy regular sleep pattern.
The worst part is that having bad sleep patterns impact the body’s ability to regulate hormones and with that comes mood swings, uncontrollable food cravings, and worst of them all is the feeling of laziness and lack of motivation to keep up with your fitness and healthy eating routine. This ultimately mares your fitness goal. You may as well see no progress with your fitness plan even as you still give it your all.
With that in mind, let’s me give you some of the best sleep tips to help you take up a better sleeping pattern. For better and determined improvements, you may save this article and come back to it every-time you notice a lack of consistency.
Six (6) Tips to Better Sleep
1. Planning is the key
For those that read a lot, especially books from best sellers in self improvement books or business books, you’ll notice that “planning” had the most emphasis. So, if you value sleep as much as you should, then you have plan each and every day with sleep and wake time in mind. Also remember to take into consideration some distractions that may try to set you off your course
2. Keep your sleep environment cool.
Numerous sleep studies had shown that having a cool body temperature can improve sleep. Scientific researches indicate that 65 degrees Fahrenheit or 18 degrees Celsius is the best room temperature to help you regulate your temperature and have a better night sleep. That does not mean that you can’t still have a wonderful sleep in cases of power outage or No air-conditioner. Simply keep your room well aerated, and have your bath close to bed time.
3. Reduce eating before bedtime.
Night time cravings are the disastrous to your weight loss, healthy eating plan and sleep patterns. You have to avoid eating close to bedtime, especially within a couple hours to your bedtime. Always, floss and brush your teeth before bedtime; this is not only hygienic, it also keep off food cravings. And this will help you better sleep and wake up with a belly that has been put in check.
4. Sleep with dim lights.
It’s incredible how much light can have an impact on your circadian rhythm (this is your body’s sleep/wake cycle which impact all your physiological processes). The hour before bedtime is a great time to turn down the lights, focus on natural lighting like from candles or soft coloured bulbs. With this also comes the advice of turning down the lights on your electronic devices and televisions. Also put you phone in “Night-mode,” this helps a lot.
5. Maintain a calm mind before you sleep.
The worst state to be before bedtime is a mind that is running a thousand miles a minute. Always keep a jotter and write all these things down just before bedtime, it works every single time in helping you calm your mind. Take it to the next level with some simple meditation that is focused on your breathing and thinking about all the things you are grateful for.
6. Keep a natural sleep aid in your night table.
For those nights when you are feeling totally restless and you have tried everything, having a natural non addictive sleep aid like a stereo of soft music at hand is a smart one to take into consideration.
