It’s that time of year again, the time when many people are already falling short of their resolutions to lose weight. This year is still very fresh and you can still succeed.
Don’t worry if you haven’t met your goals so far. Every day is a new beginning. There is a lot of weight loss advice floating around. And some of the tips are good, while others are not so much good.
Let me remind you once again;
One way to make sure that you don’t get overwhelmed is to set small, easily achievable goals. When you approach your weight loss as a non quick-fix process,and a lifestyle change, then you will greatly increase your chances of success.
The mistake most of us make, especially the women, is this;
Many women make the mistake of thinking that if they lift weight they will ‘bulk up’. Most probably, you have been thinking so, aren’t you?
The truth remains; If you really want fast results you would be very foolish to ignore the benefits of weight training.
Of course, you’re among those that will run away from lifting any weight, just for the fear of bulking up. And who tells you that you gonna bulk up lifting few weight?
Women simply do not have the biological make up to bulk up unless they;
-work out on a full time basis,
-extremely clean in their eating habits (and I mean clean, no cheating at all)
–and take supplements and drugs.
So, you just don’t have to worry about bulking up if you lift weights a few times a week. What you should know is that weight training will allow you to build muscle. And why is that important? Very simple! The more muscle you have the slimmer you look.
Let’s say two women each weigh 135 lbs. But one of them has good muscle tone and the other has more fat and less muscles. The woman who has muscle tone will look considerably slimmer even though they weigh the same amount.
Another benefit of building some muscle is that muscles burn more calories faster. That means that your metabolism will burn more all day everyday, even while you sleep or sit on the couch.
The more your metabolism burns the more weight you will lose. Basically by adding a little muscle tone to your body you will not only look a lot slimmer you will also burn more calories everyday.
I hope that sounds really cool, huh?
So, next time you decide to workout, lift few weights and be very much assured that you are not going to bulk up.
Of course, you may have seen pictures of some ladies on the internet who really look ‘Bulked up’, probably with dumbbells or crossbars. They do not look that without hormonal drugs and supplements. Some of the pictures are normally enhanced with photo-shop and the rest of them.
There is so much bad information floating around that if you follow it you may actually gain weight or never succeed in your weight loss goal. Don’t fall for out dated and incorrect exercise/diet advice.
Lifting weight is what I have used over time on my numerous clients and it all turned out fine. My own female relatives do lift weight during our work out sessions and non of them, I repeat, NON, is looking an inch less of a sexy/attractive lady(though, they are all mothers of not less than 3 children and are over 39years old).
So, When next you hear outdated story of “you will bulk up lifting weight to add some muscles”, simply look for the nearest trash can and dispose the information.
Starving yourself is another big mistake that many people make. It’s now well known that your body must get all the nutrients it needs or it will think it is dying and will slow down the metabolism. The less you eat, the less your body will burn. That is the last thing you want when you are trying to lose weight.
Instead eat a balanced diet heavy on lean protein with little to no carbohydrates. Stay away from the white foods like processed rice, white-bread, and several junks. Instead think brown rice, whole wheat bread (if you eat bread at all) and substitute your junks with fruits and veggies.
Do yourself a favor and don’t look for a quick fix, instead take a sensible approach, eat right, drink plenty of water and get plenty of exercise. If you do, you will be the next person to record positive weight loss results.
