Ever asked yourself this;
…”What are those things that I have failed to do right in trying to lose weight?”(First question)
The question we are conversant with is, “why haven’t I lost as much weight as I wanted?”(Second question)
The fact is; In weight loss programs; most individuals really want it to come easy…
You can’t get a correct answer for the second ‘conversant’ question if you haven’t answered the first question properly…
As humans, we do more of casting blames, rather than being responsible for our actions.
Asking yourself the ‘First question’, you are being responsible for your action. But, asking the ‘Second question’, you are mainly casting blames on your action, instead of being responsible for your action…
…”Actions” here, mean the totality of the things you do in order to achieve proper weight loss.
In as much as many things affect our weight loss goals; I will focus on the most common weakness you encounter during weight loss process…
…That’s nothing other that “What You Eat!”
Of course, this has always been the bone of contention; After all, it is what you eat that contributes to your weight gain…
And to conquer your weight gain; that is, achieving weight loss. You really have to watch the basic factor of your problem. And that is still,’What you eat!’
To encounter a successful weight loss, you have to take into proper account, ‘the things you eat’.
If you are still reading this post at this point, that mean you are still looking for solution on how to shed off some weight…not bad though,
…but you are definitely not in the league of persons that are allowed to eat whatever edible they wish for…
…if you must eat everything you wish or crave, you better learn how to burn all the consumed calories as well.
So, back to “the food to avoid when you are making that great effort to lose weight”.
And bringing this post to you is just a way to recognize your great effort and as well let you understand one other thing that you have to do well…
…Because, I will be you biggest fan if you really end up losing that excess weight and fitting into your desired shape and look…
The food that you should avoid when trying to lose weight could be really tempting at times;
But you have to focus on you goal and let the food be for now…
I may not go on to explain the reasons why you should not take those foods in this post. My earlier posts had already covered the explanations…
…but if you missed out in the earlier posts, there will be more and more subsequent posts to cover the reasons…
Just avoid these foods as you try to lose some weight;
Here are the Foods to Avoid;
- Cakes, Cookies and pastries
Cakes, cookies and pastries often contain large amounts of added sugar, refined flour and sometimes trans fat. These foods are high in calories but not very filling.
- Candy and Chocolate bars
Candy and chocolate bars are extremely unhealthy. They pack a lot of added sugar, added oils and refined flour into a small package.
Candy and chocolate bars are high in calories and low in nutrients. An average-sized candy bar covered in chocolate can contain around 200–300 calories, and extra-large bars may contain even more
Store-bought ice cream is high in sugar, and homemade ice cream is a better alternative. Remember to be mindful of portions, as it’s very easy to eat too much ice cream.
Pizza is a very popular fast food. However, commercially made pizzas also happen to be very unhealthy.
They’re extremely high in calories and often contain unhealthy ingredients like highly refined flour and processed meat.
- Fruit Juices(Not Smoothies)
Fruit juice is high in calories and added sugar, but usually contains no fiber. It is best to stick to whole fruit or smoothies.
- Sugary Drinks
Sugar-sweetened beverages, like soda, are one of the unhealthiest foods.
They are strongly associated with weight gain and can have disastrous health effects when consumed in excess
- Some Alcohol (Especially Beer)
If you are trying to lose weight, you may want to consider cutting back on alcohol or skipping it altogether. Wine in small amounts seems to be fine.
- High-Calorie Coffee Drinks
Plain, black coffee can be very healthy and help you burn fat. However, high-calorie coffee drinks that contain artificial ingredients are very unhealthy and fattening.
- Potato Chips and French Fries
Whole potatoes are healthy and filling, but french fries and potato chips are not. They are very high in calories, and it’s easy to eat way too many of them.
In observational studies, consuming French fries and potato chips has been linked to weight gain
- White Bread
White bread is made from very fine flour, and can spike your blood sugar levels and lead to overeating. However, there are many other types of bread you can eat.
The worst foods for weight loss are highly processed junk foods. These foods are typically loaded with added sugar, refined wheat and/or added fats.
If you’re not sure if a food is healthy or unhealthy, read the label.
As you keep on with your great effort to shed off the excess weight, try to watch what you eat…
…don’t go testing your resistance to the above mentioned foods.
Our minds are funny and loves playing tricks on us, especially during weight loss process…
Don’t be like, “Let me accompany this my friend to an ice-cream shop, (Meanwhile, you keep telling your mind; ‘Don’t look at the ice-cream, please’)”.
You may end up even licking more ice-cream than you ever licked before…only for you to feel sorry for yourself. And most probably start all over.
Avoid actions that will tempt you to break the rule of “The foods to avoid when trying to lose weight”.
